PRIVACY POLICY · SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Your trip. Your privacy.

Take a Few Days uses an anonymous, HTTP-only session cookie lasting 30 days. No account is required. Please avoid including names, email addresses, passport details, payment information, or other sensitive information in your search.

What we keep

We store search text, structured travel preferences, destination results, anonymous outbound clicks, and affiliate conversion reports in a local database on our server. Trip URLs contain random identifiers; anyone you share one with can view those trip details. Trip detail links should be treated as shareable, not private.

We use this information to provide trip suggestions, maintain the service, and reconcile affiliate referrals. Our web server may record request paths, IP addresses, browser information, timestamps, and response codes for operations and abuse prevention. We do not sell your search or support messages to advertisers.

Our service providers

Google Gemini receives your search text and travel preferences to interpret and explain your trip. TypeSafe receives a limited set of preferences and destination facts for ranking, without your session ID or raw search. Travelpayouts receives route queries and anonymous attribution IDs for partner links. Booking partners apply their own privacy policies when you visit them.

If you access us through Muse or another assistant, we receive the travel request sent by that assistant and return trip results to it. We do not receive your whole conversation unless the assistant includes it in the request. Your assistant provider handles its copy of the conversation and results under its own privacy policy. Processing may occur outside your country through our hosting and API providers.

Cookies and attribution

Our session cookie supports the requested service and anonymous attribution. We do not embed advertising pixels or third-party analytics. Partner websites may use their own cookies. Outbound links may earn affiliate commissions. We never include names or email addresses in attribution codes.

Retention

Raw search text, structured preferences, and saved trip details are cleared by a daily retention job after 90 days. Minimal search and destination records may remain for aggregate analytics and affiliate attribution. Conversion and eligible click records are removed after 24 months; related link records may remain for reconciliation. We do not ask for payment or passport information. Operational errors contain service names and error categories, not API credentials.

Local rolling database backups are kept for up to 14 days, so information removed from the active database may remain in a backup until it expires. Operational error records are removed after 30 days. Infrastructure logs rotate separately.

Support and privacy requests

When you use our support form, we store your email, message, topic, and the time of your request in a private support inbox. We use them to handle your request and do not send support messages to Gemini or TypeSafe. Support records are removed from the active database after 90 days; if you receive an email reply, the corresponding email remains subject to the operator’s mailbox retention.

Use the support form to request access, correction, or deletion of information we can identify as yours. Include a trip URL or support reference if available, but no passwords or sensitive documents. Because searches do not require an account, we may need more information to locate a record or verify a request. You can clear the session cookie in your browser; this does not by itself delete server records.

Children and policy updates

This service is intended for adults planning travel. Please do not submit personal information about children. We may update this policy when the service changes; the date above identifies this version. Contact us through support with questions.
